At the heart of 'Composers' is our passion to create something unique and very special for guests. It's a Northumberland holiday destination where visitors quickly feel at ease be it for a short break or longer holiday. Our 5 star accreditation and Gold award status, from 'enjoyEngland.com' guarantees a superior standard which offers quality and style at competitive rates, any time of year

'Composers' provides the ideal place in which to relax, to take advantage of luxurious holiday facilities and enjoy the beauty of the coast and countryside. Within easy reach of Northumberland attractions such as the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, the Cheviot Hills and the famous walled town of Berwick and the Scottish Borders, it's an ideal, all the year round, holiday destination
In September 2004 we purchased 'Woodlands', and set about obtaining planning permission to build a new office/reception and holiday accommodation. In November 2005, the old outbuildings were removed to make way for the foundations and build of the holiday properties. Finished on schedule, we opened 'Composers at Woodlands' on 15th April 2006

Why the name 'Composers at Woodlands'?
We wanted to create something other than bland holiday accommodation. With our background in the music and entertainment industry we soon found our past gave the key to the future. The musical theme offers colours, designs and styles reflecting our English, American, Italian and Russian composers - Elgar, Bernstein, Vivaldi and Chopin
From a short break retreat to the base for a longer holiday, we invite guests to enjoy superb holiday accommodation
in the UK's most unspoilt holiday destination -

The site of our Northumberland luxury 5 star, self catering holiday cottages was once a part
of the old Scremerston colliery yard, a thriving part of the local economy and life of the area.
The colliery closed in the 1950's and Scremerston, 2 miles from Berwick upon Tweed,
reverted back to a small, village community with many residents moving away
to seek employment elsewhere

F
ollowing re-routing of the A1, away from Scremerston, the once busy road around 'Woodlands'
reverted to a minor access road to the local Cocklawburn Beach and returned the area to a
peaceful and tranquil location, surrounded mainly by woods and farm fields. The 100 year old
outbuildings stood empty, used mainly as store room
