This month, The Composer combines his monthly blog in a ‘2 month’ special, combining all the elements of November and December along with news about our Composer activities, past and future. (Read to the end for the April Celebration details!)
Skating out of October we headed down the ‘nursery slope’ of our run, with a gentle reminder that November is NOT winter – but just felt like it for several days! Firework s and bonfires came and went – though we made no pilgrimage to a ‘spectacular’ show. Then, woosh, once over the first hurdle, the month of November went like a bobsleigh run with The Composer frantically clutching on to the back seat!! A whirlwind month which was busy with guests taking last minute breaks and even visitors from the southern hemisphere who thought the weather was ‘perfect’!
Then with the bobsleigh thundering down the straight, we found ourselves in December, the season known as winter – but still no snow!! In fact the sit on mower was jolted out of slumber to give a final, final cut to the ever growing grass, ready and pristine to greet the last guests of the year, after which we had a week to get the properties cleaned and ready for Christmas. The Composer and Mrs C found time to call into Manchester and enjoy the Christmas Market, chase around the shops buying presents and on 16th met up in Manchester again with the Grande Dame of the dynasty to celebrate her 96th Birthday.
On the 9-10 December the country was covered (to some degree) with the white stuff – BUT NOT US!! We managed a frost and that was it. No snow fights, no snowmen and no impassable roads. We appeared to have escaped the worst!
‘Composers’ is ready for the New Year. Our 2018 tariff and calendar are on the web site and this year we are offering 3, 4, 5 and 7 night bookings starting on any day* giving guests the widest choice of holiday arrangements. Early in the New Year we will commence the deep clean and then it’s all hands to the pumps as we welcome and look after the myriad guests we greet annually.
In April 2018 we celebrate our 12th year of hospitality at Composers. From 14th April we offer an amazing week package. Details will appear on our web site (late December) and Facebook page from 22nd January – first come first served!
In the next days we will, however, take time to pause, reflect, give thanks and send greetings as we celebrate our Christmas time with family and friends. We take this moment to share our greeting with you.
